Chemical Storage. Chemical storage procedures are required to follow
OSHA directives, manufacturer's recommendations, and the MSDS. Identify products in
storage areas by classifications of flammable, corrosive, oxidizers, reducers, and
poisonous. Physically separate (store separately) the various classes of products as
required by local codes. Because of the potential for chemical spills, storage areas for
each class of products should have containment dikes. An alternate for container
management is to use base tanks that are refilled by the water treatment service
company, thereby eliminating the handling of the containers or products by the user.
