Wells that inject fluids:

That are brought to the surface in connection with
conventional oil or natural gas production and may
be commingled with wastewaters from gas plants
which are an integral part of production
operations, unless those waters are classified as a
hazardous waste at the time of injection.

For enhanced recovery of oil or natural gas.
3.
For storage of hydrocarbons that are liquid at
standard temperature and pressure.

Wells that inject for extraction of minerals,
including:
1.
Mining of sulfur by the Frasch process.
2.
Solution mining of minerals.
(Note: Solution mining of minerals includes sodium
chloride, potash, phosphate, copper, uranium,
and any other mineral that can be mined by this
process.)
