2.11. Sign Layout Guidelines. Sign layouts should follow the formats outlined in Figures 2.12 -
2.22.
2.11.1. Building Signs. Building identification signs generally carry only one unit name, which
is displayed in the Helvetica medium typeface.

2.11.2. Secondary Information. Secondary information to identify a component of a unit may be
added in the Helvetica regular typeface.

2.11.3. Major Tenant. If a building houses more than one organization, the identification sign
usually indicates only the major tenant.

2.11.4. High Priority Component Units. If, however, the major tenant includes high priority
component units (the destinations most often sought by people who are new to the base), those
names should also be shown on the sign. The title of the major tenant is shortened to
accommodate the component unit in this example.

2.11.5. Coequal Units. In cases where there is no clear major tenant, two or three coequal units
may be shown on the sign.
