Note. Mmax was assumed to be located at the same point on the beam as determined from the dead load
analysis. This is an approximate method of determining the shear and moment diagrams, and is reasonably
accurate. The designer may decide to make another reasonable assumption or use a more accurate method
of analysis, but the difference in the results will be small.
