For Air Force airfields other than
multi-mission, a gradient exception
of 5.0 % is permitted for a distance
of not more than 120 m [400 ft]. The
exception does not apply within 180
m [600 ft] of a runway entrance.
Here the 3.0% maximum applies.
For Air Force multi-mission airfield,
the gradient is limited to 1.5%.
