Maintenance Checklist for Dry Chemical Feeders
Remove chemical dust accumulations; check
feeder performance; check for loose bolts;
clean solution tank of accumulated sediment;
lubricate moving parts.
Drive mechanisms and
Service and lubricate.
Check feed-rate accuracy and adjust, as
Thoroughly clean feeder and feeding
mechanism; paint; service and lubricate drive
mechanisms and bearings; clean and paint
Feeders out of service
Clean; remove all chemicals from hopper and
Clean rotating disc and plow.
Check and adjust mechanism and adjustable
Rotary gate feeders
Clean pockets of star feeder and scraper.
Check vibratory mechanism, tare-balance,
feeding gate, belt drive and belt; calibrate
Check feeder scale sensitivity, tare-weight,
and null balance.
Clean screw, check ratchet drive or variable
Check condition and attachment. Securely
attach sound bags; replace damaged or torn
